It is well known that the problem of world food is something that must be taken conscience and action, because on one side there are millions of people in conditions that make them go hungry, and on the other there is a large population that wastes food. A segment in this last state is the school.

There are many factors that lead children and adolescents to throw away the food that has been sent to them for lunch, among which are:
  • Children prefer to buy something more "tasty" than their lunch in school cafeterias.
  • Children are bored of the same dishes at the daily lunch
  • Children only receive vegetables and fruits (such as cucumbers with lemon and carrots)
  • Children do not have enough time to play and eat, so they prefer to play to ingest lunch
  • The recess time is very early, when children are not yet hungry enough
  • Girls have a higher tendency to waste food than boys
  • Younger children tend to waste more food than older ones
  • The foods that are most wasted and end up in the trash are salads, vegetables and fruits
So how much lunch is right? How many fruits, vegetables, proteins, carbohydrates and fats should be placed in the lunch box? In what combination? The answers are not universal and depend a lot on each child and the knowledge that their parents have of him. What is recommended is that lunches should always be nutritious, varied, sufficient and appetizing for children, with an appropriate balance between quantities and ingredients, and of course ask the child's honesty about whether they actually consume what is ordered, And if not, find what can be improved so that it can perform better.

If you want to offer your children the best option for a nutritious, varied, sufficient and of course delicious lunch, and in the amounts recommended by the experts, at Club Omega Tree we take care of that by delivering daily lunches prepared with fresh ingredients and with Recipes created by Chefs.
